A UGC (User-Generated Content) creator is a paid freelancer who produces short-form video, photo, or review content for brands to use in their own ads, on their website, and on product pages. Unlike influencers, UGC creators don't need a big following — the brand owns the content and distributes it themselves.
UGC has become the dominant creative format for Meta Ads, TikTok Shop Spark Ads, and DTC product detail pages in 2026. Raw-feeling, vertical, first-person videos consistently outperform polished studio creative, and most DTC brands cycle 5–10 fresh UGC assets per month to fight ad fatigue.
