Overview
The Amazon Brand Referral Bonus (BRB) is a program that rewards brand-registered sellers for driving external traffic to Amazon that converts into sales. The reward comes as a bonus credit applied against the referral fees Amazon charges on those sales.
In effect, Amazon shares back a slice of its fee when a brand does the work of bringing outside shoppers in, which lowers the effective cost of running creator and ad traffic to Amazon.
How it works
A brand enrolls in the program and uses Amazon Attribution to tag its external traffic. Sales that come through those tagged links earn a bonus, typically averaging around 10% of qualifying sales, credited against referral fees.
Because it depends on attribution tracking, the Brand Referral Bonus and Amazon Attribution work together: the tags measure the traffic, and the bonus rewards it.
Why it matters
The bonus improves the unit economics of off-Amazon creator marketing. Every attributed external sale not only earns revenue but also credits back part of Amazon's fee.
It makes running creators and ads to Amazon meaningfully cheaper than it looks on paper, which is a reason brands invest in external creator traffic to their Amazon listings.
How brands use it
Brands enroll, tag every external channel with Amazon Attribution, and factor the bonus into their creator-commission math so the effective cost of driving Amazon sales is lower than the headline referral fee.
