The two most compared TikTok Shop data tools, checked against their live pricing pages, for sellers deciding which one to actually buy.
Does Kalodata have deeper historical data than FastMoss?
No, and this is the most repeated inaccuracy in the category. Earlier versions of our own writing got it wrong too, which is why it is worth stating plainly.
Checked against both pricing pages on October 8, 2026:
- Entry tier: Kalodata Starter gives 90 days. FastMoss Basic gives 90 days. Tied.
- Mid tier: Kalodata Professional gives 180 days. FastMoss Pro gives 180 days. Tied.
- Top tier: Kalodata's site headlines 1000 days of historical data. FastMoss Ultimate advertises 1200 days. FastMoss is deeper.
The tiers most buyers actually purchase are tied. At the top, FastMoss advertises the longer window. So if archive depth is genuinely your deciding factor, it points to FastMoss Ultimate rather than Kalodata.
Why does the opposite claim persist? Because Kalodata launched earlier and marketed on data depth, and roundup articles copied each other. It is a good reminder to check a pricing page yourself before trusting a comparison table, including this one.
How much do Kalodata and FastMoss cost?
The pricing shapes are different enough that the headline numbers mislead.
Kalodata prices monthly. Starter is around $49.99 a month, Professional around $109.99, with a custom Enterprise tier. Annual billing takes roughly 16% off. There is no permanent free plan, only a limited trial.
FastMoss prices annual-first. Basic is $558 a year, Pro is $854, and Ultimate is $1,084, with a custom Enterprise API tier. Divided out, Basic is about $46 a month, which looks cheaper than Kalodata's Starter until you notice you are committing for twelve months up front. Added seats cost $30 a month on Pro and $70 on Ultimate, billed annually. FastMoss does offer a 7-day free trial with no card and no auto-renewal.
The practical read: if you want to test a tool for one month and walk away, Kalodata's monthly billing is the lower-risk purchase. If you know you need a research tool all year, FastMoss Basic is the cheaper annual commitment.
Which one is better for livestream selling?
FastMoss, fairly clearly. It weights live data more heavily across its plans: LIVE rankings, LIVE detail pages, and a LIVE monitor with monthly credits (10 on Basic, 200 on Pro, 600 on Ultimate).
If a meaningful share of your GMV comes from live selling, or you want to study how competitors run their lives, that coverage is the single strongest reason to pick FastMoss over Kalodata. If you sell almost entirely through short-form video and affiliate posts, it matters much less.
Can you get creator contact details from either tool?
Both gate it, and the limits are lower than most buyers expect.
FastMoss publishes its caps: 5 contacts a day on Basic, 300 a day on Ultimate, with contact exports capped at 2 a day per user (up to 3,000 records each). Kalodata includes monthly creator-contact exports from Professional upward.
This deserves more attention than it usually gets. A 5-contacts-a-day cap is a hard ceiling on recruitment speed. You can have the best creator shortlist in your category and still only act on five of them a day, which means the research quality stops being the bottleneck and the plan limit becomes it.
What neither tool does
This is the shared ceiling of the category, and it is the honest reason most sellers end up buying something else as well.
Neither Kalodata nor FastMoss will:
- Send the outreach message, in DM or email
- Follow up with the creators who ignored the first message
- Track which samples you shipped and whether the creator posted
- Attribute GMV to the specific creator who drove it, inside your own program
- Hold multiple client shops under one login, if you are an agency
Both tools are honest about this. They are research products and they do not claim to run outreach. The mistake is buying one and expecting a program, then discovering the work starts at the CSV export.
That export is where creator programs stall. Not because the research was wrong, but because a list is not a pipeline. The spreadsheet goes stale, and the creators you identified never get contacted.
Do I need both Kalodata and FastMoss?
Almost never. They occupy the same lane, so running both mostly buys a second view of similar rankings for a second subscription fee.
Pick one on the three things that actually differ: billing shape (monthly versus annual), livestream weighting, and the contact and export caps on the tier you can afford. Then put the money you saved into samples and creator commissions, which are what actually move GMV.
Which should you buy?
- You want to test for a month and keep the option to leave. Kalodata, for the monthly billing.
- You know you need research all year and want the lowest annual cost. FastMoss Basic.
- Live selling is a real part of your strategy. FastMoss, for the LIVE coverage and monitor credits.
- You need maximum historical depth. FastMoss Ultimate, which advertises the longest window.
- You are researching in order to recruit creators. Neither alone. The research is the cheap half of that job.
Where an all-in-one fits instead
If the reason you are comparing research tools is that you want to find creators and sign them up, the comparison is slightly off-target. The research is not the expensive part; the recruiting operation is.
That is the job Hubfluence is built for, and the research surfaces are the same ones you are comparing. Social Intelligence reads live TikTok Shop sales across Top Brands, Top Products, Top Categories (drillable three levels deep, from a broad category to a subcategory to a sub-subcategory), and Top Agencies, with 4M+ creators ranked by 30-day GMV and E-com Level alongside. So the leaderboards both tools sell you are in here already.
The difference is what happens next. Open any competitor brand or single SKU, see the creators promoting it ranked by real GMV, pull them into a Smart List, and launch an Email and TikTok DM sequence from that same page. No export step. Sample Manager ties shipments to posts and GMV, campaigns and contests activate the roster, and reporting attributes revenue per creator. Pricing is published at $149 to $599 a month with a 7-day free trial, and Multi-Shop Management covers agencies running several client shops from one seat.
The honest tradeoff, stated plainly: for pure historical product-trend research, a dedicated tool like Kalodata or FastMoss goes deeper on that single axis than our built-in research layer does. We are not claiming otherwise. If your main job is studying multi-year seasonality, buy one of them. If your main job is building a creator roster that sells, the all-in-one covers the weekly research question and removes the handoff where programs break, on one subscription instead of two.
One more honest caveat on recruiting volume, since no tool can promise otherwise: how many brand-new creators you can cold-invite in a week is capped by TikTok Shop itself, not by the software. That weekly first-touch invite limit scales with your trailing 30-day GMV, and replies or follow-ups to creators you have already contacted do not count against it.
Why this matters for TikTok Shop brands and agencies
A research subscription only pays for itself when it changes a decision you act on this week. A dashboard nobody acts on is a line item, not an advantage.
For most TikTok Shop brands, the two decisions that move revenue are which products to push and which creators to recruit. Both are answerable with data, and both decay fast. A tool that surfaces a great creator you contact three weeks later has not really helped, and a 5-contacts-a-day plan limit guarantees exactly that delay.
For agencies the math compounds. A research subscription per client, plus an outreach tool per client, plus a reporting rebuild every month, is how a creator offering stops being profitable. Consolidation matters more with every client you add, and per-seat add-on pricing on research tools is the quiet margin killer.
The brands that compound on TikTok Shop treat data and action as one motion: see who is selling, contact them the same day, ship the sample, confirm the post, measure the GMV, then repeat with better inputs. Tools that split that loop across separate systems slow down the only thing that really matters, which is how fast you learn.
