How this calculator works

1. Build the roster, then check it against the budget

Set how many creators you want in each tier, or name them individually in the roster. The calculator prices the roster against your monthly budget and tells you whether it fits, how much room is left, and how many more creators you could add at your current blended rate.

2. Tiers are your rate card, not a ranking

The default tiers are price bands, not a judgment about creator quality. Rename them, change the rates, or add your own to match how you actually pay. What matters is that each band reflects a real rate you would offer, because the blended cost per creator drives every other number here.

3. Fixed costs are per month, not per creator

Platform fees and sample spend do not scale with roster size the way creator fees do. They are charged once a month and then spread across whoever is on the roster, which is why your all-in cost per creator falls as the roster grows.

4. Runway is the number to watch

Total budget divided by monthly burn tells you how long the campaign actually lasts. A roster that fits comfortably in month one can still run the budget dry before the campaign ends, and that shows up here before you have signed anyone.

5. Flat fees are only half of most programs

This models the flat fees you pay up front. Most TikTok Shop programs also pay commission on sales, which is a variable cost that scales with the revenue creators generate rather than with your budget. Model the commission side separately in the TikTok Shop calculator and read the two together.

6. What this does not include

There is no forecast of views, engagement, or GMV here, because those depend on the creators you sign, the product, and the content. This is a spend planner: what the roster costs, whether it fits, and how long it lasts. Treat any reach projection as a separate exercise.

7. Where a bigger roster changes the economics

Programs built on flat fees alone get expensive fast, since every extra creator is another fixed payment. Shifting part of the deal to commission lets you widen the roster without raising the monthly burn, because the variable half only costs you when a creator actually sells something.

We help TikTok Shop brands and agencies plan spend, recruit creators, and scale what returns. 30 minutes, no pitch deck.

Why it matters

Budget planning protects your ROAS.

Unplanned spend is where creator budgets quietly leak. Modeling the split up front keeps every dollar tied to a target.

Avoid Budget Overruns: Know exactly how much you'll spend before committing to creators. No surprises mid-campaign.

Include Hidden Costs: Platform fees, product samples, and shipping can add 20-40% to creator fees. Factor them in upfront.

Optimize Tier Mix: See how different combinations of micro, mid-tier, and macro creators affect your budget and reach.

Get Stakeholder Buy-In: Present detailed budget breakdowns to leadership for faster approvals and aligned expectations.

Scale Confidently: Plan multi-month campaigns knowing exactly what each month will cost as you add or remove creators.

Make it pay

Reallocate toward what works.

The calculator is a planning tool, not just a splitter. Shifting budget to your best creators is the fastest way to lift ROAS.

Balance Your Tier Mix: Combine a few high-impact macro creators with many micro-influencers for reach and authenticity.

Run Multi-Month Campaigns: Longer partnerships often come with discounted rates and build stronger creator relationships.

Optimize Seeding Costs: Negotiate bulk shipping rates and consider product bundles to reduce per-creator seeding expenses.

Reinvest in Top Performers: Track creator performance and allocate more budget to those driving the best results.

Keep Budget Buffer: Reserve 10-15% of your budget for emerging opportunities and high-performing creator bonuses.

Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered.

Absolutely. Many brands underestimate seeding costs. Factor in product cost, packaging, and shipping for each creator. For campaigns with 50+ creators, seeding can represent 20-40% of your total budget.
Gifted collaborations provide free products without guaranteed posts. Paid collaborations include product plus payment for guaranteed deliverables. Use this calculator to see the cost difference and decide which approach fits your budget.
It depends on your goals and budget. Micro-influencer campaigns often work with 20-100 creators for broad reach. Macro campaigns might focus on 5-10 larger creators for concentrated impact. Use this calculator to model different scenarios.
